Ohio River Greenway Trail Airport Connector
Ohio River Greenway Trail Airport Connector (Proposed)
The Ohio River Greenway Trail Airport Connector to Findlay Township uses existing paved roads and bike routes: Bike PA Route A (Route 51), Flaugherty Run (Share-the-Road), and 0.7-miles of Clinton Road. This non-motorized connection to Pittsburgh Airport will opens up a world of opportunity for the regional trails north and west of Pittsburgh and in Ohio and West Virginia by expanding its reach to national and international air traffic as well as providing both a recreational outlet and an efficient pathway for commuters. The Ohio River Greenway Trail Airport Connector provides the shortest and fastest route to downtown Pittsburgh (21.4-miles), whereas the Montour Trail Airport connector route to Point State Park is 26.7-miles. Stakeholders include the Airport Corridor Transportation Association, Allegheny County Airport Authority, Crescent Township, Findlay Township, Moon Township, Ohio River Trail Council, PennDOT, and the Montour Trail Council since the planned bike route links to a 6.3-mile segment of the Montour Trail.
